Artemesia Ludoviciana (South Dakota Gray Sage)
This type of sage (Artemesia Ludoviciana) is most often used for ceremonial purposes.. We grow our sage through propagation from the mother plants growing on the South Dakota prairies (natural process from the plant stock). We water our plants with an outstanding drip-irrigation system that also delivers pure Rocky Mountain water and various essential macronutrients to our plants. At the peak of their perfumed bloom we hand-cut our sage plants and take them directly to the drying phrase or to the distillation phrase. We hang small batches of sage bunches upside down in our drying room and let them slow-dry to enhance the natural healing properties. At this stage we also will wrap our sage wands and other hand-made sage crafts.
